Coach Jen Barr has been teaching and coaching for 18 years. Her career started in 2000 at Centennial high school where she was the girls’ Junior varsity soccer coach and varsity assistant. In 2005, she accepted the Head Women’s varsity soccer position at Northview High School in Johns Creek. It was there, that Barr helped put Northview soccer on the map by leading the team and school to its first ever playoff berth in 2009. Barr would then make the playoffs for seven consecutive years, leading her team to two state title games, one in 2010 & the other in 2012, as well as the sweet sixteen, and to the Elite eight two times.

Coach Barr holds her Coerver national youth diploma in soccer, coached club soccer for Atlanta Fire United, was selected to coach the Ashlyn Harris (USWNT Goalkeeper) soccer Procamp, and was selected to coach the Georgia High School Di-Varsity All-Star soccer game in 2010 & 2012. In 2013, Jen along with 23 other soccer players went to the Dominican Republic and traveled to several villages to teach the game of soccer and hand out retired uniforms, bags, and balls. Her girls competed against several organized teams while on the island and had the pleasure of playing against the Dominican Republic women’s national team.

Coach Barr went to Valdosta state University for her undergraduate degrees. She holds both a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in Cardiac Rehabilitation & a Bachelor’s of Science in secondary education. In 2012, she finished her Masters from the University of Alabama focusing her degree on disease prevention. She teaches Physical Education, and is looking forward to building the soccer program at Denmark and cultivating the whole athlete.
